KDA developed a fully coordinated program of Street Furniture and Wayfinding Signage to compete for the twenty-year contract in Vancouver. The consulting services included design, technical drawings, presentation materials for public viewing, capital cost analysis and coordination with manufacturers.
As part of the proposal, KDA created four unique furniture systems that highlighted the distinct characteristics of Vancouver’s Heritage District, Chinatown District, Financial District and Residential Districts.
The Program also included tourist signage, kiosks, litter receptacles, benches and ad columns.
The Vancouver Street Furniture Program represented the first initiative in Canada to create a coordinated city-wide furniture strategy.
