Following an international competitive bid process, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation retained KDA in 1974, to develop a bilingual logo to represent its radio and television divisions.
The now iconic logo concept is based on the letter ‘C’ for Canada, visually broadcasting from the centre outward to the county and to the world. It is a logo that is, by its graphic nature, already animated and has lent itself to further on-air animation over the years. Innovative for its time, it was one of the first logos designed to be used in motion and still.
The comprehensive graphic program was designed for all aspects of the Corporation’s visual needs, including standards for stationary, signage, vehicles, posters, billboards, banners and clothing.
More than 35 years later, it is easily one of the most recognizable company logos in the country.
