Located in the Eaton Centre’s newest retail addition, the Ryerson School of Business
is one of the first Canadian universities to be integrated into a ‘real business
environment.’ This allowed for a very unique approach to the identification signage
of the educational institution. Incorporating a video board as a ‘visual voice to the
street’, KDA’s digital display signage program is designed to promote and
communicate the School of Business marketing initiatives; Eaton Centre's
promotions; City of Toronto public announcements; and revenue-generating 3rd party advertising.
Creating a landmark feature, the sign structure and video display both curve and cantilever downwards to create a sculptural appearance. The multi-media program integrates full colour, HDTV format LED combined with programmable architectural lighting, and can communicate with the many other video boards in the neighborhood to create real-time broadcasting events.
