Winners in Prestigious Sign Magazine Contest
Toronto, Ontario - April 16, 2002- Kramer Design Associates Ltd. (KDA) is pleased to announce that two original designs created by the firm were winners in the 2002 Electric Sign Contest held by Signs of the Times (April 2002), North America's largest and foremost magazine of the sign and environmental communications industry. "We were thrilled that our sign designs were honored amongst those typically recognized as industry leaders and the best in North America." states Jeremy Kramer, Principal and Creative Director of KDA. This year's reputable event saw one hundred and forty one qualified entries, most of which centered on fun and whimsical themes, compete in five categories for the coveted awards distinction. KDA's Arabian Knights inspired magical carpet canopy for Flamboro Downs Racetrack Slots garnered an Honorable Mention in Category 5: Sign Systems. Among the winners in this category were Disney's Adventure Park (first and second place) and Park Place Entertainment / McCarran Airport (third place).
The second Honorable Mention was for the impressive double-sided entrance sign developed for Woodbine Racetrack Slots, in Category 1: Original Logo / Freestanding Signs. Featuring 4-panel scrolling technology and LED screen, this 84 foot by 31 foot Renaissance themed sign distinctly landmarks the facility, and communicates the excitement of the slots, live entertainment and horse racing.
