| Toronto, ON November 19, 2001 Kramer Design Associates' (KDA) state-of-the-art transit shelter design was presented the prestigious Award of Merit at Mississauga's 20th annual Urban Design Awards. The transit shelters, the first of their kind in Canada, have already garnered praise from press, media companies and users alike for its new aesthetic and functionality. | |

| Exemplifying excellence in design, the new transit shelters received the highest award for Significance - City Wide Scale, in contributing to the quality of environment, demonstrating a regard for Mississauga's distinct streetscapes and visual identity, and addressing personal safety and outdoor communication needs. | |
| The sleek silver structures, with a cantilevered roof, constructed of high-grade aluminum and tempered glass, were designed to be visually lighter and more transparent, in order to increase visibility for advertisers, improve wind and rain deflection, and offer the public a safe, inviting environment. | |
| The Mississauga Urban Design Awards competition, Ontario's longest running awards program, plays an integral part in the city's commitment to ensuring leadership in urban design and planning, while recognizing the achievements of designers and developers to the visual quality of the city. | |
| KDA also designed the new transit shelters for the city of Toronto. | |
| Jeremy Kramer, Principal and Creative Director of KDA, was born in Toronto, Ontario and is an alumni of the Ontario College of Art and Design. His work in the dynamic field of Architectural Signage, Sponsorship Branding and Expert Wayfinding has been published internationally and has received numerous awards and recognition. Jeremy is also an acting member of IAAPA, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. | |
